If I agree with something, is that is all
about perspective. We don't see what other people see, and they don't see what
we see. That’s why it’s important to be seeing every side to the story. But that’s
pretty much impossible since we cannot know everything. And that’s something
much human beings don't understand. But that’s not the point here. The point
is, that we must not think that our opinion and point of view is always right
and the only one that matters in this world. It's also important to know, that
what people see is what people believe.
So if you have a chance to read On Looking by Alexandra Horowitz, do so because it may change the way you think and see things. Although, I believe it's way too long for the message it's trying to deliver.
**If you have time, watch Brain Games S02E01, it's about focus and attention, and how our brain works**

THANK YOU FOR THE LAST SENTENCE! I said that from the beginning, though in my mind, but I noticed that the message was really simple and what she wrote is too long. The reason for that is that she wrote examples after examples just to prove one small point. Still, other people should read it.
ResponderEliminarWe can't see everything, but by paying a little more attention we can see a lot more than usual. It was a great writing, too long I guess, but great.
ResponderEliminarI believe "On looking" was too long for my taste. I think that someone could have written the same in less pages than what the author did, although I believe that she did a good job explaining her point.
ResponderEliminarHello Jeanette! I also agree that it was to long for the message that it was trying to deliver... it could've been better and easier to understand if it were a couple pages shorter...

Way to go on suggesting to watch a supplementary material. I can see it fits very well. According to the author she believes that paying attention selectively is the key to what “paying attention” really means.
