The suffering, the crying, the fighting,
The fear, the feelings, the hurting,
All the time invested,
Is it worth the pain?
Is it worth the effort?
Will we ever be again?
Or will it all be regret?
To live with loving someone
Who stopped loving you;
To an unsaid goodbye;
To lose a relative to a cancer
That ate away their brain or heart;
Is it worth it to live this way?
Or is it better to go away-
To a faraway place
Where everything is new and
There is no pain
It’s a mystery, this place
We’ll never know how it is-
Unless, we are there.
But is it worth it?
To take a chance
To leave everything
behind
For this unknown place-
And a new meaning for life?
OOHHHHH THAT SONG! ITS A GREAT SONG! AND YOUR POEM IS GREAT, HAS A REALLY STRONG MESSAGE TO GIVE AWAY.
ResponderEliminarWhat a strong message, can't believe this was written by you since you seem such a quiet girl, nice work!
ResponderEliminarI have no idea how to respond to your poem. My brain cells are trying to figure something longer than three letters to say but they can't and all that I'm willing to say right now is WOW.
ResponderEliminarHello Jeanette! This is such an amazing poem! Its incredibly sentimental and so easy to relate to. The song is so perfect for it as well! Brilliant brilliant brilliant! True kudos!

You mention "invested time", as if it was optional. When really I feel like I can say that this time might have been stolen if you're speaking of a lost loved one.
ResponderEliminarThe last stanza makes me think that you’re talking about suicide when you say the words: “it’s a mystery…/ we’ll never know how it is…/to take a chance/ to leave everything…/ for this unknown place/ and a new meaning for life?/ I bet it is."
It feels as though a struggle between staying on this Earth with all the pain in it, or to leave to heaven, a better place where pain is nonexistent.
